Andrew Thomas Carroll (born 6 January 1989) is an English footballer who plays for Premier League club Liverpool and the England national team as a striker.

Carroll has been compared to Newcastle legend Alan Shearer,Chelsea striker Didier Drogba,and also to former Newcastle and Everton striker Duncan Ferguson due to his skill in the air. He is referred to as a classic No. 9 centre forward, owing to his strength, powerful shot and excellent heading ability.Former Newcastle United manager Kevin Keegan stated "he is probably in the top three headers of a ball I have ever seen in football".

After Newcastle's game at home to Blackpool, Blackpool manager Ian Holloway described Carroll as the best striker in the Premier League.

Born in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, Carroll attended Brighton Avenue Primary School and Joseph Swan School.

Carroll and his ex-girlfriend have a daughter, born 15 September 2009
