Joel Campbell born June 26, 1992 is a Costa Rican international footballer who plays for Premier League club Arsenal.
Campbell began his career with C.D. Saprissa in 2009 before being sent on loan to Puntarenas F.C. in January 2011.
On July 28th, Costa Rica television reported that Joel Campbell had come to an agreement with Arsenal F.C. although Campbell later admitted he had not signed but that talks were taking place.
On August 6th, Costa Rica media reported that Campbell was set to sign a five-year deal with Arsenal after rejecting Sevilla and Fiorentina.
On 12th August, Campbell signed a contract with Barclays Premier League club Arsenal, however the contract details have yet to be confirmed.
Campbell was selected in Costa Rica's squad for the 2009 CONCACAF U-17 Championship, he was the team's highest scorer, scoring two goals in total. He was named in the 2011 CONCACAF U-20 Championship two years later and finished the competition as top scorer with six goals.
He officially debuted in Costa Rica's national team on June 5, 2011 in the Gold Cup, scoring one goal.
On 7 July 2011, he scored his second international goal, against Bolivia.
